A little about Shilpa…
Shilpa Rao is a research and clinical trials professional with more than seven years of experience supporting patients, advocacy organizations, and research teams. She earned her PhD in Molecular Medicine from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, where her work focused on sex differences in PD. Shilpa previously served as Director of Strategic Operations at the Parkinson’s Foundation, where she helped in the PD GENEration study, a genetic testing initiative designed to improve understanding of Parkinson’s disease and connect participants to research opportunities. She also worked to expand outreach to underrepresented communities and improve access to clinical research. Currently, Shilpa supports the NEULARK Phase II clinical trial by Neuron23 that is focused on LRRK2-driven Parkinson’s disease.

A little about Jana…
Jana Mowrer, MPH, RDN, CDCES, NBC-HWC, is a Registered Dietitian, National Board-Certified Health and Well-Being Coach, and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist dedicated to helping individuals build sustainable health through evidence-based nutrition and real-life strategies. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of California, Davis, and her Master of Public Health in Health Education and Promotion from California State University, Fresno, where she also completed her Dietetic Internship.
With years of experience working across clinical and community settings, Jana specializes in blood sugar balance, metabolic health, and sustainable weight management. Her approach focuses on simplifying nutrition, improving metabolic function, and helping individuals create lasting change without restriction or overwhelm.
Jana is a published author, researcher, and sought-after speaker known for her ability to translate complex science into practical, actionable steps. She is also the founder of HealthWins, where she leads coaching programs, corporate wellness initiatives, and community education efforts. Outside of her professional work, Jana enjoys traveling, serving her community, and spending time with her family—including her two cats.
